What cookies are

This Cookie Policy explains how Derechos del Fútbol, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("MINERVA", "we", "us"), uses cookies and similar technologies on MINERVA Business Academy, at minervabusiness.com.

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser so that it can remember information between pages or visits. Other technologies work in a similar way, such as your browser's local storage and session storage, or the tags and pixels of other companies; in this policy, the term "cookies" also refers to them. Cookies set by MINERVA are first-party cookies, and those set by other companies are third-party cookies. Some are deleted when you close your browser or tab, and others remain until they expire or you delete them.

How we use them

We use cookies in three categories:

  • Necessary: they make the website work, for example to keep you signed in, protect your account, remember your language and store your cookie choices. They are always active, because the website cannot work without them.
  • Analytics: they help us understand how visitors use the website so that we can improve it. We use them only if you accept them.
  • Advertising: they allow us to measure the results of our advertising and to show you relevant ads on other platforms. We use them only if you accept them.

We manage analytics and advertising tags with Google Tag Manager. We load it, and with it Google's tags, only if you accept analytics or advertising cookies: until then, and if you reject them, Google receives no information from our website. Google's consent mode tells each tag which categories you accepted, as explained in our Privacy Policy. The Meta Pixel is loaded only if you accept advertising cookies.

When a course video is played with the Vimeo player, we load the player with its "do not track" option enabled. Vimeo's own policies apply to its player.

We also use your browser's storage for features that you request: session storage keeps the details you enter at checkout until you complete your purchase, and local storage keeps a draft of your answers during an assessment until you submit it.

Cookies we use

Necessary cookies

  • __Secure-better-auth.session_token: keeps you signed in and protects your session. Provider: MINERVA. Duration: up to 14 days, renewed while you use the website.
  • __Secure-better-auth.two_factor: used only while you complete a sign-in that requires two-step verification. Provider: MINERVA. Duration: up to 10 minutes.
  • minerva-locale: remembers the language you choose for the website. Provider: MINERVA. Duration: 12 months.
  • minerva-consent: stores your cookie choices. Provider: MINERVA. Duration: 6 months.
  • minerva_practica_intro: remembers that you have closed the notice about the practice questions that appear in lesson videos, so that it is not shown again. It contains no personal information. Provider: MINERVA. Duration: 12 months.

Analytics cookies

  • _ga and cookies whose names begin with _ga_: Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager. They distinguish visitors and sessions to produce usage statistics. Provider: Google. Duration: up to 24 months.

Advertising cookies

  • _gcl_au: Google Ads. Measures the conversions generated by our ads. Provider: Google. Duration: 90 days.
  • _fbp: Meta Pixel. Identifies your browser to measure and deliver our ads on Facebook and Instagram. Provider: Meta. Duration: 90 days.

If you accept these categories, Google and Meta may also set or read cookies on their own domains, under their own policies.

Our own analytics

We also measure how the website is used with our own analytics, which do not use cookies. To avoid counting the same event twice, our analytics store a random identifier in your browser's session storage. That identifier exists only in the open tab, is deleted when you close it and is not linked to your account. Some events that happen on our servers, such as a confirmed purchase, an enrollment or the start of a course, are recorded with your account so that we can produce statistics about our courses. We use this information only to produce statistics, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Cloudflare, which delivers and protects our website, also measures how quickly our pages load with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or store anything in your browser, and it produces only aggregated statistics.

Managing your preferences

On your first visit, a banner lets you accept all cookies, reject those that are not necessary or choose by category. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, we stop using the corresponding cookies from that moment and delete the Google and Meta cookies of that category stored for our website. Cookies that Google or Meta store on their own domains remain in your browser until they expire or you delete them.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, some parts of the website, such as signing in, will not work.

Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy, for example if we start using new cookies. We will publish each new version on this page with its effective date and, when the law requires it, we will ask for your consent again.
