What a certificate shows
MINERVA certificates are issued by Derechos del Fútbol, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("MINERVA", "we", "us"), through MINERVA Business Academy. Each course states on its page which type of certificate it offers:
- Certificate of Participation: records participation under the course criteria, for example a minimum attendance at live sessions. It does not certify mastery of competencies.
- Certificate of Completion: records that you completed the required lessons and activities of the course.
- Certificate of Achievement: records that you passed the course assessments under the stated score or rubric. It is the only type that lists the competencies assessed.
Each certificate shows your name as you confirmed it, the course and its version, the type of certificate, the issue date, the issuer, the competencies assessed or the topics covered, the criteria applied, the estimated total hours, the modality and the type of assessment, including whether it was supervised. Unless a certificate states otherwise, its assessments were taken online without supervision or identity verification. If you choose, it can also show your overall result. Every certificate has a unique code and a QR code that leads to its verification page.
How to earn one
The course page states the exact criteria for its certificate, which may include completing a minimum percentage of lessons, passing the required assessments with a minimum score and attending a minimum proportion of live sessions. A Certificate of Achievement always requires passing at least one graded assessment: watching the videos is not enough.
You must meet the criteria while your enrolment is active, and the work you submit must be your own. If you use artificial intelligence tools or other sources, you must follow the instructions of each activity, including any requirement to disclose that use.
Issuing and downloading
When you meet the criteria, we let you know by email and the certificate appears as ready to issue in the Certificates section of your account. Before it is issued, you confirm the name that will appear on it and choose your visibility settings. We then issue it with its unique code and confirm it by email. You can download it as a PDF from your account.
Verification and privacy
Anyone who has a certificate's code can check its authenticity and status (valid, revoked or replaced) on our verification page. You decide what the verification page shows:
- whether your certificate can be verified by anyone who has its code or is private;
- whether it shows your full name or only your initials; and
- whether it shows your overall result.
You can change these settings at any time from your account. If a certificate is private, its code returns the same response as a code that does not exist. Verification pages are not indexed by search engines and never show your email address, identity documents, date of birth or answers. If you share your certificate, for example on a professional network, you decide what to share, and doing so does not imply any endorsement by that network.
Corrections and reissue
If your name or any other information on a certificate is wrong, you can ask for a correction from the Certificates section of your account or by writing to info@minervabusinessacademy.com. We may ask for reasonable evidence before changing the name on a certificate. If the correction is appropriate, we issue a new certificate with a new code that replaces the previous one. The verification page of the previous certificate then shows that it has been replaced and, if the new certificate is visible, indicates its code.
Revocation
We may revoke a certificate if:
- it was obtained through fraud, for example by impersonating another person, by having someone else complete the assessments or by providing false information;
- there was a lack of academic integrity, for example copying, plagiarism, or sharing or using the answers to graded assessments; or
- the payment for the course was reversed through an improper chargeback.
Where appropriate, we will give you an opportunity to explain before we decide. If we revoke a certificate, we will notify you by email, and its verification page will show that status and the date of revocation. The revocation of a certificate does not give rise to any refund.
Scope
MINERVA certificates are private credentials. They are not academic degrees, professional licences or qualifications issued by any government, university or third-party organisation.
